High Energy Detergent - Low Suds
Front load washers are very popular because of the savings they offer. But if the wrong kind of detergent is used, it can destroy the machine. A front load washer needs HE (High Efficiency) detergent. This is a detergent that produces very little suds.
In a front load washer, clothes are brought up to the top of the drum and then dropped into water at the bottom of the tub. This forceful action is what dislodges dirt from clothes. When the water flows out toward the household drain, dirt and water are taken with it. The drum then spins very quickly to remove any last pieces of dirt.
By using a regular detergent, too many suds will appear at the bottom of the drum and it will make it extremely hard for the clothes to reach the water therefore, not becoming clean. Not only will regular detergent not clean clothes, it can actually ruin the machine.
